 It was almost Christmas 
  I stood in another line
 Trying to buy that last  or two

  was dirty from head to toe

  you hurry, sir?
  says there's not much time
 You  she's been sick for quite a while

 They counted pennies for what seemed like 
  the cashier said, “Son, there's not enough here.”
 He searched his pockets 
 And he turned and he looked at 
 He said, “Momma made Christmas good at our 
 though most years she just did

 Somehow I’ve got to buy her these Christmas

 I knew I’d caught a glimpse of heaven’s love as he thanked me and ran 
 I knew that  had sent that little boy to remind me
  Christmas is all about
 
 “Sir, I wanna buy these shoes  my momma, please
 It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her 
 Could you hurry, 
 Daddy says there's not much 
 You see, she's been sick for quite a 
 And I know these  will make her smile
 And I want her to look
